Free Stretch Class in January

De-Stress from the holiday's with a free Saturday Stretch Class. Class has moved to Saturday at 8:00am

Happy Holiday’s from Fitness Within

Fitness Within promotes health and wellness and invites you to join one of their Saturday Stretch Classes for free in January. This is open to new, past, and current clients.

As you age, your muscles tighten and range of motion can be minimized. This will impact your active lifestyle and limit normal day to day activities. Tasks that used to be simple such as standing, bending, and reaching now become difficult. A regular stretching program can help lengthen your muscles, make daily living activities easier and lessen the risk of injury.

This class focuses on proper form and breathing to help with endurance, range of motion, reduced DOMS (Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness), injury prevention and recovery, flexibility, coordination, stress relief and it is designed for all fitness levels. This is not a Yoga class, so please do not expect to practice poses, call and response chanting, meditation, or an inspirational reading by the teacher.

Stretching is crucial for all athletes. Those that participate in sports that require vigorous body movements and pressure on the muscles and joints will benefit from a proper stretching program. These sports include but are not limited to cycling, martial arts, gymnastics, weightlifting, strength training, high impact classes, cross fit, football, basketball, hockey, baseball, wrestling and running.

Non Athletes

People who exercise infrequently or not at all are more prone to injury, because their bodies are no longer conditioned to cope with daily movements. Stretching can help prevent injury as well as speed up injury recovery. For those who exercise frequently, it will help with DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness), flexibility, coordination endurance, and range of motion.

The Elderly

Many elderly people are unable to maintain basic mobility. Muscles and joints weaken, range of motion deteriorates along with decreased coordination. Stretching will help develop and maintain muscle strength, increase blood circulation and improve coordination and mobility. This will lead to a better quality of life.

Benefits

  • Stress release.
  • Increased range of motion.
  • Increased circulation of blood to various parts of the body - leading to more energy.
  • Improved muscular coordination.
  • Better posture.
  • Injury prevention and recovery.
  • Enhanced endurance and metabolism.
