Gas Drops Below $3 in Parts of Mass., Including Reading

Gas prices hit a low of $2.99 in Reading this week

Gas prices this week plummeted to their lowest levels of the year—dropping below $3 a gallon in some parts of Massachusetts.

In Reading, prices dropped slightly below $3. Here’s a look at the lowest prices in town as of Tuesday, according to GasBuddy:

  • East Coast Gas, $2.99
  • Mutual Gas, $2.99
  • Reading Petroleum, $3.09
  • Gulf, $3.09
  • Cumberland Farms, $3.15

The average price of gas statewide was $3.26. Prices have been driven down by low demand and abundant supplies, according to the Associated Press.
