George Souza Passes Away
Longtime Reading resident worked as manager at the UPS store in North Reading

George W. “Georgie” Souza of Reading passed away May 4th. He was 61.
Beloved husband of Karen (Leonardo). Loving father of Nicholas, Daniel, Catherine and Michael Sousa of Reading. Son of the late George Sr. and Lorraine Souza. Son in law of Theresa Leonardo and Henry Murphy of Reading. Brother of Linda Sousa and her husband Joseph of Reading and John Souza of NH.
George truly enjoyed working as Store Manager at the UPS store in North Reading for years along with many other things. To his friends and family, he was nothing but kindhearted and would always greet the world with a warm smile. Family was the most important aspect in George’s life, he was thought to be the most understanding man in the universe. His peers always got the best guidance and advice as the listener that he was, along with receiving the best hugs around.

George spent time with his wife and kids each chance he had and loved watching his kids grow up playing sports. George was also an avid sports fan, his favorite sport was basketball enjoying shooting hoops and watching the Celtics with his family. Other than sports, George also loved the outdoors and would spend all day visiting Hampton Beach with his family and took walks around Harold Parker during his lunch breaks. George will be remembered for the hardworking, helpful and passionate man that everyone knew him as.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass in St. Athanasius Church, 300 Haverhill St., Reading on Friday at 10:30 am. Visitation in the Funeral Home on Thursday from 4-8 pm.
