H. Marion Kohler Passes Away

A 68-year resident of Reading, she worked for light department, and at the library.

H. Marion (Swansburg) Kohler, a 68-year resident of Reading passed away at her home on Feb. 4. She was 96 years of age.

Marion was born in Melrose, Massachusetts on May 5, 1921 the daughter of Thomas E. and Helen Z. (Clifford) Swansburg. Marion was a graduate of Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School in Boston. She worked for the Town of Reading as a secretary and bookkeeper for the light department, cemetery department, and the veteran’s department. She also worked at the Reading Public Library. She attended and graduated Melrose High School. While in High School she was a member of the Color Guard. She was a member of Rainbow, Eastern Star in Melrose and the Crittenden League. She enjoyed arts & Crafts.

Marion was the wife of the late William M. Kohler. She was the mother of Deborah L. LeFebvre and her husband Bill of Reading and Stephen M. Kohler LTCL US Army Ret. and his wife Annette Hicks-Kohler of Landaff, NH. She is the loving grandmother of Liam, Erika and Katherine and loving great grandmother of Briona, Lauren, and Irelyn, Everly and Callum.

Marion’s funeral and burial are private and there are no visiting hours.
