Harold Parshley Jr Passes Away

A lifelong Reading resident, he proudly served in the United States Air Force.

Harry W. Parshley Jr., a life long resident of Reading, passed away peacefully on Tuesday Jan. 2. He was 80 years of age

Born in Boston, Harry was the loving son of the late Harry Parshley Sr. and Evelyn (Atwood) Parshley. Harry was an avid Boston sports fan. He had a passion for the Patriots, Red Sox and NASCAR. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in North Reading for many years. He worked for the Laborers International Union of North America Local 22 for over 50 years. He proudly served our Country in the United States Air Force.

Harry loved trains. He knew almost the exact time when each train would be in Reading. He loved his cat Mikey and most importantly he loved his children and grand children.

Harry was the beloved husband of the late Louane (Pierce). Devoted father of Debbie Kendall and her husband Dave, Harry W. Parshley III and his wife Nancy, James Parshley and his wife Leslie, Thomas Parshley and his wife Jenny, Kevin Parshley and his wife Lisa and the late Sheryl Daley and her surviving husband Steve. Loving grandfather of 13 and great grandfather of 10. Dear brother of Dorothy Meuse and her husband Lenny. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service Celebrating Harry's Eternal Life will be held on Monday, Jan. 8th at 11 am in the Doherty – Barile Family Funeral Home, 11 Linden St., Reading. Interment with Military Honors in Charles Lawn Cemetery, Reading.

Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share memories with the family on Sunday, Jan. 7th from 1-5 pm in the funeral home. Parking attendants and ramped entrance available.
