Headed to the Compost Area? Make Sure You Cover Your Load

The Reading Police Department hopes everyone had a nice summer.

The fall season is quickly approaching. We wanted to inform the community of a concern posted by several area residents. Many of us benefit from the use of the Town’s compost area. To ensure safety and to be considerate to all area residents, please cover your loads, and also monitor your speed. Thank you for addressing these issues as to accommodate resident’s concerns.

The Police Department will be strictly enforcing the traffic laws in this area. More specifically, MGL 85-36, load not adequately covered ($200 fine), and MGL 90-18, speeding (minimum fine $105).
