Hornets Hockey Team to Receive MIAA Sportsmanship Award

The hockey team is one of four boys programs statewide that will receive the 2011 James F. Mulloy Ice Hockey Team Sportsmanship Award from the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association.

North Reading joins Agawam, Auburn and Reading as this year's boys' recipients. Hingham and Norwood are being honored on the girls' side.

North Reading will accept the award during the MIAA state hockey finals Sunday at the TD Garden in Boston.

This will not be the only trip for the Hornets to the Garden in the coming days. . Sokolski will be honored along with 31 other recipients from the various high school leagues across the state during the second intermission of Tuesday's Bruins game against the New Jersey Devils.
