Suspect In Fatal OUI Crash Had Device To Prevent Drunk Driving
Police ID'd the victim in Thursday's fatal chain-reaction crash allegedly started by a 50-year-old woman on drugs.

READING, MA — The Tyngsborough woman who police said was high on narcotics when she caused a chain-reaction fatal crash on I-95 North Thursday reportedly had a device in her car meant to prevent drunk driving.
The Boston Globe reported Friday the woman, who has twice been convicted of OUI, has a device in her car that determines if the driver has had alcohol. The device is meant to keep the car from unlocking.
State Police said Lynn E. DeWolfe, 50, was under the influence of narcotics when her erratic driving caused a crash that led to a man being thrown off his motorcycle. She fled and left more crashes in her wake until apprehended, police said.

The victim, identified Friday afternoon as Christopher Weisz, 42, of Bedford, was pronounced dead at Lahey Clinic in Burlington.
The crash occurred around 9:40 a.m. near Exit 37 in Reading. Dewolfe was driving a 2008 Saab 93 sedan when she hit a car driven by an 85-year-old Natick woman. That vehicle, a 2005 Subaru Impreza, crashed into the jersey barrier and flipped around, facing southbound in the northbound lanes. The Impreza then traveled the wrong way and struck the motorcycle, a 1987 BMW K-100 RS, throwing Weisz from the bike.

The Impreza also struck a 2010 Toyota Camry and a 2012 Toyota Corolla.
The drivers of the Camry and the Corolla were transported to Winchester Hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the Impreza was transported to Lahey in Burlington with minor injuries.
DeWolfe fled the chaotic scene, police said, and was involved in other crashes before being arrested by a Wakefield Police officer and State Trooper around Exit 42.
DeWolfe, was arraigned Friday at Woburn District Court. She was charged with operating under the influence of drugs, leaving the scene of a crash that caused personal injury and death, negligent operation of motor vehicle, and marked lanes violation.
The crash closed all but the breakdown lane on 95, hampering traffic for hours Thursday.
