Ipswich River Park's Wednesday Night Concert and BBQ Series
An outdoor twilight barbeque and concert in the heart of the summer ... what could be better?
This July New Englanders have been lucky, our weather has been nearly perfect. And there is no better way to escape into great summer weather than attending the Wednesday evening barbecue and concert series. It provides an ideal Great Escape for three reasons:
1) The cost -- $3.00 per car for the entertainment and a raffle ticket (this week was a ticket giveaway for The Lowell Spinners).
2) The time – barbecue at 5:00 p.m., kids’ entertainment at 5:15 p.m. and bands at 6:15 p.m.
3) The entertainment – A kid-friendly stage featuring puppets and magicians, and grown up-friendly stage featuring classic rock bands.
Tonight Boston-area magician, Magic by George, entertained kids with clean comedy and tricks including the levitation of one slightly nervous young man.

Meanwhile, local band, The Classmates, catapulted parents back in time with classics from the sixties and seventies ranging from the Beatles song "Help" to "Some Kinda’ Wonderful," by Grand Funk.
Next Wednesday, kids will dance and sing along with the Toe Jam Puppets and parents will enjoy the classic rock, R&B and pop of Cool Change.
