
James “Roger” William Hanright Jr. of Reading died Jan. 19 at the age of 75. James was born in Boston on July 14, 1942, the son of the late James W. Hanright, Sr. and Mary J. (Kelley) Hanright.
He grew up in Somerville and then Burlington. James enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1961. He was proud to serve his country during the Vietnam War. James also enjoyed fishing, camping and playing cards with his friends. He was always trying to help fix things around the house. James loved listening to music, but most of all he loved to spend time with his family.
James is the loving father of James W. Hanright, III and his wife Tiffany and Scott Hanright all of Westmont, IL, Kelley Hanright of Reading and Paul Hanright and his wife Kristen of Aurora, CO. Devoted grandfather of Scottie and Zach, Frankie, Katheleene and Lilah and Rhiannon. Brother of Ronald Hanright of Punta Gorda, FL and the late Kenneth Hanright and Jean Reynolds. James also leaves behind the mother of his 4 children Catherine (Lembesis) Lindbom of Reading.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, Feb. 9 from 3-7 pm at the Douglass, Edgerley & Bessom Funeral Home 25 Sanborn St. (corner of Woburn St.) Reading. A prayer service will be held at 6 pm that evening. Family and friends invited to attend. Burial will be private. James is a US Marine Vietnam Veteran.
