
John J. Watson, 91, beloved husband of the late Alice (Donegan) Watson, passed away on Saturday, July 7th, at his home.
Born in Brookline, he is the son of the late James F. and Gertrude (Benton) Watson.
John was a life long resident of Reading and a graduate of Reading High School, class of 1945. He served his country and is a veteran of the United States Army. For many years, John has his own plumbing and heating business. He was an active member and usher at St. Athanasius Parish in Reading. John enjoyed going to antique car shows and most of all, was a loving and devoted grandfather to his grandchildren.

He is the Loving Father of Joseph Watson and his wife Diane, Elizabeth Watson and her husband Robert Schudy, Michael Watson and his wife Karen, Thomas Watson and William Watson. Cherished grandfather to 10 grandchildren and Great grandfather to 4 great grandchildren. Loving brother of William Watson, Edward Watson, Theodore Watson, Barbara Burbine, the late Robert Watson and the late Virginia McKinnon. Devoted son of the late James F. and Gertrude (Benton) Watson. Loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Doherty-Barile Funeral Home, 11 Linden St. Reading, on Wednesday, July 11th at 9:30 am followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating John's Eternal Life at St. Athanasius Church 300 Haverhill St., Reading at 10:30 am.

Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share memories in the funeral home on Tuesday, July 10th from 3-7 pm. Parking attendants will be available. Interment will be in Wood End Cemetery, Reading.
