Jones Re-elected House Minority Leader

The North Reading Republican has been in the Massachusetts House of Representatives since 1994.

The Republican members of the Massachusetts House of Representatives will continue to be led by state Rep. Bradley H. Jones Jr. (R-North Reading) after he was re-elected to the House Minority Leader post on Wednesday.

Jones, who represents all of North Reading, and parts of Reading, Lynnfield and Middleton, has held the top Republican post in the House since 2002.

The North Reading resident issued a statement after he was re-elected.

“As we embark upon the 189th Biennium of the Great and General Court of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, I am pleased to announce my re-election as Leader of the House Republican Caucus.

“Having the resounding support of the largest House Republican Caucus in my tenure as Minority Leader means a tremendous amount to me, and I thank my colleagues for their continued confidence in my ability to lead our Caucus.”
