Kenneth Logan Passes Away

A member of the First Congregational Church in Reading, he could speak five languages fluently.

Kenneth A. Logan, a longtime resident of Reading, died at his home on June 1, 2017. He was 75 years of age.

Ken was born in Brookline, Massachusetts on October 21, 1941 the son of the late Fred H. and Olive (Porter) Logan. Ken graduated from Northeastern University in 1967. He was an avid reader and was a frequent visitor to the Reading Public Library. He was a member of the First Congregational Church in Reading. He was a lover and studier of languages. He could speak 5 languages fluently. He will always be remembered as a kind and gentle man who at times would take in homeless people to give them a helping hand.

Ken was the beloved husband of the late Linda (Seward) Logan. Nephew of Eleanor Bavis, cousin of Larry Bavis, Lorraine Liakos and Sandra Savage. He also leaves his loving friend and care giver Carol Barnes of Wilmington.

A funeral service celebrating his life will be held on Tuesday, June 6 at the First Congregational Church, 25 Woburn St., Reading at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Visiting hours will be held at the Douglass, Edgerley and Bessom Funeral Home 25 Sanborn St., (corner of Woburn St.), Reading on Monday from 4-8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Ken’s memory to the American Cancer Society 30 Speen St. Framingham, MA 01701.
