Les Sidelinker Passes Away

Longtime Reading resident served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.

Leslie T. “Les” Sidelinker, a resident of Reading for over 50 years, died after a brief illness surrounded by his family and friends at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House in Reading. He was 72 years of age.

Les was born in Boston, Massachusetts on June 9, 1946 the son of the late Wilson and Grace R. (Apigian) Sidelinker. Les was a graduate of North Reading High School. He enjoyed repairing and restoring antique cars. He was known as a master craftsman and a Jack of all trades. His family was first and foremost in his life. Les served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.

Les was the beloved husband of the late Cheryl A. (Cox) Sidelinker. Devoted father of Janelle M. Boutin and her husband Mark of Reading and Renee A. Richards and her husband Andrew all of Reading. Cherished brother of Wilson Sidelinker, Jr. and his wife Denise of Baltimore MD and Veronica Sykes and her husband Richard of Reading. Loving grandfather of Brandon and Josephine Boutin; James and Grace Richards. He was also the cherished son in-law of Audrey Cox of Reading.

A Funeral Service celebrating his life will be held Monday, Nov. 26,2018 at the First Baptist Church 45 Woburn St., Reading at 11 a.m. Burial with military honors to follow at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Visiting hours will be held at the Douglass, Edgerley and Bessom Funeral Home 25 Sanborn St. (Corner of Woburn St.) Reading from 4-8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society 30 Speen St. Framingham, MA 01701.
