Lewis Endorsed by Environmental and Conservation Advocates
The Environmental League of Massachusetts (ELM) Action Fund and the Massachusetts Sierra Club Political Committee support Lewis.

BOSTON -- State Senator Jason Lewis has been endorsed for reelection by two leading environmental advocates: the Environmental League of Massachusetts (ELM) Action Fund and the Massachusetts Sierra Club Political Committee.
"I'm honored to receive the endorsement of the ELM Action Fund and the Massachusetts Sierra Club," said Senator Jason Lewis. "We share the same strong commitment to fighting climate change, accelerating the shift in Massachusetts away from fossil fuels to clean energy, promoting the green economy, and protecting our environment for future generations."
In his tenure on Beacon Hill, Senator Lewis has been a strong champion of the environment. Recently, he helped to promote the passage in the Senate of an Act to promote a clean energy future, which will increase the use of renewable energy, reduce greenhouse emissions, implement a price on carbon, and create jobs in the innovative green-energy economy, and will protect public health and the environment.

On the conservation front, Senator Lewis was the lead sponsor on an Act relative to ivory and rhinoceros horn trafficking, which recently passed the Senate. The bill would curtail the illicit sale of ivory in the Commonwealth and protect critically endangered African elephant and rhinoceros populations from brutal poaching and wildlife trafficking operations.
The ELM Action Fund is the 501(c)(4) advocacy and political arm of the Environmental League of Massachusetts. The Environmental League of Massachusetts Action Fund helps pass laws that
protect the state’s environmental legacy and works to build the political power of the environmental community. The Massachusetts Sierra Club has an over 45-year legacy of protecting the environment with successful legislative, advocacy, and educational campaigns. They have helped to elect countless environmental champions in communities around the Commonwealth.
