Lewis Receives Community Health Center Champion Award

State Senator honored for recognizing importance and value of community health centers.

A release from the office of State Senator Jason Lewis:

The Massachusetts League of Community Health Centers and its members recognized Senator Jason Lewis on May 2 with the Community Health Center Champion Award.

The Champion Award is given to leaders in the Massachusetts Legislature who recognize the importance and value of community health centers, and consistently show a willingness to consider a health center perspective when developing health care legislation and policy in Massachusetts. In his remarks, Senator Lewis stated his belief that health care should be considered a basic human right and applauded community health centers for their work in improving healthcare equity and access to quality, affordable healthcare for all.”

Joining Lewis were James W. Hunt, Jr., president and CEO of the Mass. League of Community Health Centers; Sue Joss, president and CEO of the Brockton Neighborhood Health Center and board chair of the Mass. League; and Kaitlin McColgan, Vice President, Government Affairs & Public Policy, Mass. League.
