Lights, Cameras, Santa On Reading Common

Town celebrates the season by turning out for the annual Holiday Tree Lighting.

Nothing against Black Friday and Cyber Monday, but there's only event that signals the beginning of the holiday season in Reading. Santa came to town Sunday and with a flick of the wrist, threw the switch that turned on the lights on Reading Common.

For the 26th year the Holiday Tree Lighting was hosted by the Reading-North Reading Chamber of Commerce. The celebration included Santa photos, a horse drawn hay ride, trolley rides, live entertainment, a bounce house, strolling characters, live ice sculptures, and more. The Festival culminated at dusk when Santa and his elves officially lit the Town Square for the holiday season.
