On Saturday, February 14, 2015, Core Synergy Women’s Fitness Center in North Reading will be co-sponsoring a fundraising fitness event with the American Heart Association and SELF Magazine. Change of Heart presented by SELF magazine is a grass roots program that works to educate women about heart-health in support of the American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women movement. SELF organizes fundraisers at exclusive fitness centers across the country where the funds raised are used for the AHA’s campaign, research, and educational materials and programs throughout the country.
SELF recently contacted Kim Vittozzi, the owner of Core Synergy at 197 Main Street in North Reading, to co-sponsor a fundraising fitness event where 100% of the proceeds go to Go Red for Women/Change of Heart causes. “SELF told me that they were excited to approach me given that I was the only all-female gym in the area which complimented the “Go Red for Women/Change of Heart” causes,” said Vittozzi. “Both of my parents have heart conditions. I personally know the importance of a healthy heart and being well educated about the risks factors and warning signs.”
Core Synergy’s “Change of Heart” event is Saturday, February 14th from 7:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Pre-registration at coresynergy.org is suggested but not required. Any woman can take a class or workout in the gym for a donation of $20. There will be three special classes of boot camp, muscle conditioning and Zumba to get your heart pumping! Each attendee will receive a special gift bag.

Heart disease and stroke cause one of three women’s death each year. Its is the number one killer of women, yet only one in five American women believe that heart disease is their greatest health threat. Ninety percent of women have one or more risk factors for heart disease or stroke. Eighty percent of cardiac events can be prevented with education and lifestyle changes.
Join other women at Core Synergy on February 14th to help raise awareness of heart disease among women.
