Man Charged With Drug Possession, Other Crimes In Reading: Police

A man is facing several charges after police noticed suspicious activity in a parking lot on Monday.

READING, MA — A man was charged with drug possession and other crimes in Reading on Monday.

At 2:55 p.m., an officer on patrol noticed suspicious activity believed to be a drug deal in the parking lot of a Walkers Brook Drive business. The officer followed the suspect's vehicle after it left the parking lot and stopped it a short while later.

A Methuen man was driving without a license and is accused of lying to officers during questioning. Police then searched the car and found drug paraphernalia and drug residue. Police later learned that Salem, N.H., police had issued an arrest warrant for the man involving other criminal cases.

The man was charged with possession of a class A substance, possession of a class B substance, failure to identify to a police officer, operating without a license, and fugitive from justice. He was arraigned Tuesday in Woburn District Court.
