Man Charged With Drunk Driving In Reading: Police
A man was arrested after police found him in a heavily damaged car early Saturday morning.
READING, MA — A man was charged with driving drunk after police say they found his heavily damaged car stopped in the road.
Police responded to Haverhill Street at 1:33 a.m. Saturday on a report of a heavily damaged vehicle stopped in the road.
Police found a Jeep Liberty near 300 Haverhill St. that appeared to have significant front-end damage, consistent with a crash.

Police determined the driver was intoxicated following a field sobriety test.
Albert Salsgiver, 74, of Peabody, was charged with driving under the influence.

He was taken to a local hospital out of an abundance of caution, police said.
Salsgiver was held on $240 bond and arraigned in Woburn District Court on Monday.
