Marjorie Sletterink Passes Away

Marjorie A. (Hovey) Sletterink, age 82 passed away on Oct. 25.

She was predeceased by her parents Arthur & Beulah (Towse) Hovey. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Allan. She was the proud mom of Glenn Sletterink and his wife Lisa of Wakefield, Carol Sandberg and her husband Brian and Roy Sletterink and his wife Patricia all of Reading and her 9 grandchildren: Timothy, Gregory, Katelyn, Zachary & Bradley Sletterink, Riley, Joel & Adam Sandberg and Daniel Sletterink. She is also survived by her brother Dan Hovey and his wife Gloria of Portsmouth, NH and her sister-in-law Lynne Hovey of FL. She was predeceased by her brother Arthur.

Marje graduated from Stoneham High School in 1953 and Salem State Teachers College in 1957. After teaching in North Reading she raised her family before starting a part time job for College Marketing Group where she worked for 30 years. She enjoyed her annual trips to Lake Winnipesaukee and the Cape with her husband as well as avid bird watching and gardening.

The wake will be held at Douglass, Edgerley & Bessom Funeral Home, 25 Sanborn St. (corner of Woburn St.) Reading from 4-8 pm on Friday Oct. 27th. Funeral and burial will be private.
