“This appointment culminates a months-long search process that began by eliciting interest from applicants from several states and ended with a rigorous assessment center conducted by independent, active, and retired Police Chiefs for the top candidates,” said LeLacheur. “I would like to thank search committee members Selectman Chair Dan Ensminger, Selectmen Public Safety liaison Barry Berman, School Superintendent Dr. John Doherty, Fire Chief Greg Burns and Administrative Services Director Matt Kraunelis for their insight and capable assistance in this process.”
LeLacheur also thanked Chief Cormier for his outstanding leadership of the department and his dedication to the entire Reading community.
