Monday's Sports Recap

A rundown of Monday night's Reading sports action.

Boys VARSITY GOLF

Reading 48 1/2, Willmington 23 1/2:

Junior Paul Andrick shot a 39 to win his match, 6 1/2 - 2 1/2, for Reading (2-0) while sophomore Scott Tully also shot a 39 to win, 5-4. Freshman Alec Tzianabos picked up his first varsity win, 7 1/2 - 1 1/2.

Reading will be home against Woburn on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.

Girls Varsity VOLLEYBALL

Reading 3, Watertown 0:

The Rockets (2-0) dominated on the road as they beat Watertown in three consecutive games, 25-3, 25-16, 25-3. 

Sophomore setter Hannah Conroy finished with 19 service points and Katy McLaughlin had six kills.

The Rockets will face Burlington at home on Wednesday at 4 p.m. 

BOYS FRESHMAN SOCCER

Reading 3, Winchester 1:

Dane Sullivan led the Rocket offense with  a pair of goals and Nathan Terry had one goal to help first-year head coach Christian Huizenga's win his Reading debut. 

"They all played really well," said Huizenga. "It was a real team effort."

Reading will travel to take on Watertown at 3:45 on Wednesday.
