Crockpots have been working overtime for members of the Young Women's League of Reading! Last Saturday, March 29, members prepared soups and side dishes for an evening meal for those in need at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Reading. This Saturday, April 5, members and their children brought and served a ham dinner with soups, desserts and bread to those in need at The Dwelling Place.
Located at 523 Main Street in Woburn, with an entrance behind the United Methodist Church, The Dwelling Place is a soup kitchen that is sponsored by churches, businesses and neighborhood groups throughout Woburn.
The group, run by volunteers, offers free hot meals year round on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays from 5:30-6:45 p.m. For more information and to ask about volunteer opportunities, email thedwellingplace1987@gmail.com.

The Young Women’s League of Reading, Inc. is a philanthropic organization, benefiting individual charities, scholarships, and social needs in the Reading, MA area. In the past five years alone, the group has raised and returned to the community more than $60,000.

The group was founded in 1950 and is comprised of 25 women whose mission is to coordinate fund-raising, social and civic events in Reading. Members use the group’s long-standing traditions along with innovative fundraisers to support the community.
All funds raised by the Young Women’s League of Reading are disbursed annually among community groups, foundations, organizations and families in need.
