Neurofibromatosis is a genetic disorder of the nervous system that causes tumors to form on the nerves anywhere on or in the body at any time. While the vast majority of NF-related tumors may initially start out benign, the disorder can be debilitating and may cause disfigurement, blindness, deafness, psychological issues and cancer.

“I am so excited to join Neurofibromatosis Northeast,” said Black. NF is a disease that affects so many people -- both children and adults -- yet it continues to be virtually unknown. I am excited to help raise funds and awareness as we work towards a cure for this devastating disease.”

Black has spent over ten years in the field of non-profit philanthropy, helping to raise philanthropic support for organizations including Boston Children’s Hospital, Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research and St. Francis House.

Black holds a BA in Russian and Eastern European Studies and English from Tufts University.
