New Ice Cream Parlor Sweetens End of Summer

A new eatery that features ice cream has come to a northern suburb of Boston, taking over the space where a location of a bakery had been. Jeanne’s Ice Cream Shoppe & More is now open in Wakefield, moving into the former D’Amici’s Bakery site on New Salem Street. The other D’Amici’s locations are unaffected by this change.

The parlor offers breakfast items such as bagels, muffins and iced coffee during morning hours, sandwiches and hot dogs around lunch, then ice cream at night. The ice cream flavors include apple crisp, strawberry and peanut butter cup.

The permanent hours of operation have not been set, but the Facebook page of the business provides updates. The permanent opening hour is expected to be 7 a.m.
