New Look Coming for 128 Marketplace

According to a report in the Daily Times Chronicle, upgrades are coming to the Reading plaza.

Reading's 128 Marketplace may be getting a facelift in the near future.

According to a report in the Daily Times Chronicle, the Reading Board of Selectmen listened to a presentation from property owner George Danis during a recent meeting.

The newspaper reported that there will be two areas that will be demolished, and added that the razing of those areas will allow for a redesign. Danis said as a result of the changes, four or five storefronts will be added to the plaza in addition to more parking spaces.

Market Basket, K&G Fashion Superstore, Creative Playthings, Baby & Kids Furniture Warehouse Store, and Reading Athletics Club are among the stores that fill the plaza that is located at One General Way.

"The Town of Reading has a strong sense of community, has actively engaged in smart growth and has a vibrant downtown," a description on the 128 Marketplace website said. "And, with above average demographics in Reading and the neighboring communities, it is no wonder why more and more retail businesses are locating in Reading."
