New Principal Sought for Parker Middle School

Earlier this week, Parker Middle School principal Doug Lyons accepted a position as an assistant superintendent in the Wakefield school system.

The new position for Lyons is effective Oct. 23.

“We thank Mr. Lyons for his years of outstanding service, leadership and contribution as an administrator in the Reading Public Schools and wish him the best of luck in the next stage of his career,” Reading Superintendent John Doherty stated.

Doherty stated that the Reading schools will begin the search for an Interim Principal for the Parker Middle School for the 2015-16 school year with the intent of conducting a search for a permanent Principal for Parker Middle School for the 2016-17 school year.

Doherty said there will be more details about the search in the upcoming weeks.
