Team at the New England District Championship Event
This past weekend the RMHS robotics team “The Robockets” competed in the New England Championship Event at Boston University. On Friday Linda Snow Dockser joined the team at BU to learn more about FRC/FIRST Robotics and the team. FRC/FIRST Robotics competitions are known for showcasing and developing the talent of our students, and the “future of engineering" in America. The team enjoyed Linda’s time with them and they were able to demonstrate their robot (nicknamed "Petunia") and explain this year’s challenge.
The Robockets will participate in several offseason events this spring. A fundraiser will be held at the Mandarin restaurant on Salem St in Reading on May 6th. Proceeds from the event will go toward future competitions and support for the robot in this important STEM initiative at the high school. The team will also have a booth at the Reading Friends and Family Day in late June where we will be demonstrating both this year’s and last year’s robots for all who are interested.
