Obituary: Bette (Clark) Marshall, Retired Teacher at Coolidge Middle School

She was a graduate of Reading High School and Bridgewater State College.

Bette (Clark) Marshall, 74, of North Reading, formerly of Reading and Malden, passed away unexpectedly at the Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington on Thursday, Aug. 21, 2014.

Born in Malden, MA on October 18, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Phillip and Eleanor (Edwards) Clark. She was a graduate of Reading High School and Bridgewater State College.

Bette was a former History Teacher at the Coolidge Middle School in Reading, she retired in 1968. She was a homemaker and was dedicated to her family. She was a resident of North Reading for more than 50 years. She was a member of the Garden Club and an active member of the Union Congregational Church for many years.

Bette was always willing to help others, whether at the church fair, making wreaths, contributing time and money to various funds or helping to wash dishes after various functions, she was liked by all.

Family members include her loving husband of 51 years, David W. Marshall; sons, David S. Marshall and his wife Melinda McIntire of Reading and Jamie C. Marshall and his wife Yuko of Middleboro; her daughter, Laura E. Marshall-Beaulieu and her husband Timothy of Merrimack, NH. Also survived by seven loving grandchildren.

Her funeral will be held at the Union Congregational Church, 148 Haverhill St., North Reading on Wednesday, Aug. 27 at 10:30 a.m. Calling hours will be held at the Croswell Funeral Home, 19 Bow St., North Reading, on Tuesday, Aug. 26 from 4 to 7 p.m.
