Operation Troop Support Event, October 17

Volunteer for just two hours and help wrap thousands of gifts for the troops. Saturday Oct. 17, 10-12 noon at the Pleasant Street Center.

Reading Lions Club Hosts Operation Troop Support Gift Wrapping Event

Operation Troop Support sends 30,000 holiday presents to service men and women every December and they all need to be wrapped!

On Saturday, October 17 The Reading Lions Club will host their annual Operation Troop Support Holiday Gift Wrapping event. Operation Troop Support will supply the gifts and wrapping supplies and they need volunteers to do the wrapping. The Lions Club invites all members of the Reading community to join this special volunteer effort. Anyone able to wrap a present is welcome! The Holiday Gift Wrapping will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the Reading Pleasant Street Center, 49 Pleasant Street in Reading.

Established in March 2003, Operation Troop Support serves our deployed men and women in uniform from across the country.
Headquartered in Danvers, MA, Operation Troop Support has five missions:
• Sending care packages to our deployed troops
• Supplying our military hospitals both state side and abroad with much needed comfort items
• Spearheading an extensive holiday gift wrapping and distribution program to our military forces
• Coordinating a regional military family support group program
• Generating a public awareness of the sacrifices and needs of the soldiers and their families
Although Operation Troop Support will supply all the gifts and wrapping for this event, they always welcome additional gift and monetary contributions. The Reading Lions Club, www.readinglionsclub.org, is honored to host this special community event. The Lions Club is made up of over 30 men and women who live or work in the Reading area and who share an interest in community service. The Reading Lions Club serves by funding community needs and by participating in and organizing communuty events.
