Out Spreading the Word to Vote NO on April 3

Writer shares his experiences holding a Vote NO sign near the Depot.

So I took my homemade Vote NO sign and headed off to the Depot this afternoon to express my opinion on the override. Fairly sure I counted over 50 waves in the 90 plus minutes I was at the Depot as well as the corner of High and Woburn. Only saw about a dozen looks of disgust and thumbs down. Plus a few stares of utter disbelief.

The best moment however was a stop-by from a Yes For Reading supporter who I have conversed with on Facebook. We had a nice short chat, including about the tone of the debate on social media and the importance of playing nice in the sandbox during this election so we can all move forward together after April 3, whatever the outcome. I remember mentioning the importance of this very point in my first Facebook post on this issue. I really appreciate her courage to stop and say hello, and her graciousness during our conversation.

This is what makes Reading a great place to live!
