Overnight Street Parking is Now Banned in Reading. Here is What you Should Know
The Town of Reading is enforcing its winter parking ban. Keep these details on hand to avoid a ticket.

READING, MA — The Town of Reading has enacted its Townwide overnight winter parking ban, which will typically run until early April.
The ban is instituted to ensure that cars do not get in the way of snow plows, ambulances and firetrucks during the winter seasons. The ban typically is lifted by the Chief of Police in early April, if the current weather permits.
Police said Monday on Facebook that no further warnings will be given.

According to Article 5.9 of the town's traffic and parking regulations, it is unlawful for any veehicle other than one acting in an emergency to park on any street or in any municipally-owned parking lot between the hours of 1 and 6 a.m.
Vehicles with a valid current year's Community Access Sticker can park in the following municipal lots under the following terms:

- Pleasant Street Center Parking Lot off Parker Street: From 5 p.m. until 8:00 a.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and without limit on Saturdays and Sundays.
- Harnden Yard Parking Lot off Pleasant Street: From 10 p.m. until 8 a.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
- Brande Court Municipal Parking Lot off Haven Street: Eight parking spots on the northerly fence line from 10:00 p.m. until 8 a.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
