Police and Local Business Fly the Flag
Officers and Home Depot manager help out local residents who had flag stolen.

A report of a stolen flag ended up being a feelgood story involving the police and the local business community.
A Reading police officer recently took a report from local residents about a missing American flag.
The officer learned that the reporting parties are longtime residents of the town, who didn’t want to “bother” the police, but that this was the second time that their flag had been stolen over the past year. As the officer spoke with them, the couple mentioned that they were not going to replace the flag this time because it was too expensive for them.

The officer took matters into her own hands, and headed to Home Depot, with the intent to purchase them a replacement. After hearing the reason that the officer was at the store, John, the manager at Home Depot in Reading donated the flag.
For Reading police officials, it was another incident showing people helping people and what makes the town special.
