Police Summons 2 for Marijuana Possession

This is an excerpt from the North Reading police log for March 29-31.

The following is a look at some of the calls handled by the from Tuesday through Thursday. The information is open to the public.

Tuesday

At 8:49 a.m., police received a report from a woman who said she was approached at a Lowell Road address by a white male in his 50s. The man asked her if it was OK to change his clothes in the parking lot. The vehicle was registered to a New Hampshire resident, according to police.

At 11:30 a.m., police conducted an interview with a person in a vehicle that matched the description of one involved in a series of recent house break-ins.

At 3:17 p.m., a caller reported that a vehicle passed a school bus that had its stop lights and signals activated at the corner of Park Street and Burditt Road.

At 3:21 p.m., a caller reported a “sickly” raccoon in the area of Ashwood Drive and Marshall Street. The raccoon was gone on arrival.

At 7:58 p.m., a man reported that two men came to his door and asked him if he wanted to sell his truck. The men were described as “not well dressed and not clean” and were driving a silver BMW. The man was not sure if the action was just a ruse to see if anyone was home. Police advised the man to call if there was any further activity.

Wednesday

At 1:48 p.m., a resident reported a tractor-trailer truck was running in the parking lot of Moynihan Lumber North Reading on Chestnut Street.

At 12:18 p.m., police responded to a report of a disturbance at the pharmacy counter. Management gave a woman a verbal no-trespass order and will follow up with a written copy, according to police reports.

At 12:31 p.m., a Park Street resident reported that his vehicle was broken into sometime between 9:30-11 a.m. The resident told police that he was missing a prescription bottle and that the vehicle was unlocked.

At 2:38 p.m., police monitored traffic during school bus stops in the area of Park Street and Burditt Road.

At 3:18 p.m., police responded to an accident outside the post office on Park Street. The accident involved a Ford Escape and a postal van.

At 4:08 p.m., a caller reported two males in a black Mazda rolling marijuana cigarettes in the area of on Main Street. An officer stopped the vehicle near the facility on Main Street. Police will summons two males for marijuana possession, and the operator will be cited for not having a license in possession, according to police.

Thursday

At 9:30 a.m., police investigated a possible abandoned vehicle at 340 Main St.

At 12:38 pm., police reported possible tampering to the at 235 Main St.
