
READING, MA - Reading police are warning residents that is that time of year again when residents are especially susceptible to scams from people claiming to be from the IRS.
Police officials stated that they have already received some reports of attempted scams this year.
In an effort to keep people aware so that they don’t fall victim, police have posted some tips from the IRS to help prevent scams.

IRS officials stated that they will not call you to demand immediate payment, demand that you pay taxes and not allow you to appeal the amount you owe, require that you pay your taxes a certain way, ask for credit or debit card numbers over the phone, or threaten to bring in police or other agencies to arrest you for not paying.
