Postseason Arrives on the Diamond for Rocket Teams

The Reading High School baseball team will have to travel a bit for its opening round playoff game. The Lady Rockets softball team, not so much. 

On Tuesday the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association announced its baseball and softball postseason pairings.

Reading's 12-8 mark was good for the No. 10 seed in the baseball bracket, while the softball team earned the No. 13 seed with an 11-9 record.

As a result, the softball team will travel to face off against nearby No. 4 seed North Reading on Thursday at 3:30 p.m. The Hornets are the No. 4 squad in North Division 2.

In the baseball North Division 2 bracket, the Rockets will travel to face New Mission on Saturday at 4 p.m. New Mission is the tournament's No. 7 seed, coming in with a record of 14-5 on the year.
