Puppy Chews Recalled Over Salmonella Fears
Nylabone is recalling one lot of its Puppy Starter Kit dog chews.

Nylabone Products is warning consumers about possible salmonella contamination in some of its Puppy Starter Kit dog chews.
The company issued the recall after routine testing revealed the presence of salmonella in one lot of the 1.69 oz. Puppy Starter Kit. The recall affects packages marked with Lot #21935, UPC 0-18214-81291-3 and bearing an expiration date of 3/22/18, according to the Food and Drug Administration recall notice. The information is marked on the back of the package.

The recalled items were distributed to stores nationwide as well as to Canada and one online mail order facility.
If you purchased one of the recalled items, you can return the unused portion to the place of purchase for a full refund.

No illnesses have been reported in connection with this recall. According to the notice, “pets with salmonella infections may be lethargic and have diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, fever, and vomiting. Some pets will have only decreased appetite, fever and abdominal pain.” Infected pets can appear healthy, but still transfer the infection to other animals or humans.
