Reading Cooperative Bank is proud to support the Reading Memorial High School FIRST Robotics Team 4761. Donations to the team allow “The Robockets” to compete annually in the FIRST Robotics Competition, as well as the FIRST Lego League.

“The RMHS Robotics team is a great way for kids to use their talents in a competitive, yet playful environment. It is truly amazing to see young adults finance and construct a robot - both extremely challenging tasks. RCB is glad to be able to play a part in furthering educational opportunities for the students participating in these unique competitions,” said RCB Commercial Loan Officer, Catherine Sanchez.

“Reading Cooperative Bank has been a strong and significant supporter of the Robotics programs in Reading. The bank has consistently supported the RHMS FIRST Robotics team over the past 3 years as well the FIRST Lego League with participation from all Elementary and Middle Schools in Reading. This year’s donation will allow the FIRST Lego League teams to upgrade to the Mindstorm EV3 platform for the 2015-2016 season”, said David Ventola, Treasurer of the Reading Engineering Teams, Inc.

Not only do students have the opportunity to create and innovate, but also to collaborate with others and learn what it takes to fund a project. The FIRST Robotics Competition “combines the excitement of sport with science and technology to create a unique varsity Sport for the Mind™. FRC helps high-school-aged young people discover the rewarding and engaging world of innovation and engineering,” according to their website.
