Reading, Austin Prep Girls Get Ice Tourney Matchups

There's more than one reason to pay attention to the MIAA girls' hockey tournament if you live in Reading.

Austin Prep earned the No. 3 seed in the Division 1 tournament, while neighboring Reading Memorial High school was the 29th seed in pairings released Saturday.

AP finished undefeated at 18-0-2 and will play No. 30 seed Hingham Tuesday in a preliminary round game. Reading made the tournament at 8-8-3 and will face No. 4 seed Methuen/Tewksbury on Tuesday. The only way the two Reading schools can meet is in the state title game at the TD Garden.
