Reading Basketball Teams Get Tournament News
Girls earn No. 5 seed in Division 1 North, boys 13th seed in Division 2 North.

They knew they were tournament bound, but Friday afternoon the MIAA made it official with the announcement of the 2019 basketball tournament pairings.
The Reading girls are the No. 5 seed in the Division 1 North field and will host No. 12 seed Revere on Monday. Reading comes into the tournament at 16-4 while Revere is 11-9. The Rockets are coming off winning the title of the Gieras Memorial tournament in Danvers in which Haley Lightbody was named tournament MVP.
The Reading boys had a strong end of season to squeak into the tournament at 10-10. The Rockets will travel to Middlesex rival Wakefield Tuesday to play the No. 4 seeded Warriors. Wakefield is 14-6. Reading, which won six of its last eight games, played Wakefield twice in December, losing the first but winning the second, 61-55.
