Reading Business Receives Grant From State Workforce Training Fund

The $106,000 grant will go toward training 72 workers, with seven additional jobs anticipated by 2026.

READING, MA — A $106,000 state grant will help train 72 workers, with seven additional jobs expected by 2026, according to a statement from State Rep. Richard Haggerty D-Woburn.

The grant is from the Workforce Training Program and will benefit the Reading Cooperative Bank.

"These programs not only set our workforce up for success with the training and skills they need to stay ahead in today’s ever-changing job market, but also help our local businesses improve productivity and competitiveness," Haggerty said in a statement. "Such investments are important in strengthening economic growth and creating opportunities within our community.”

The Workforce Training Fund helps companies improve productivity and competitiveness by providing resources to invest in the Massachusetts workforce. The program is funded by Massachusetts employers via contributions made to unemployment insurance.
