Reading Cooperative Bank Gives Daisy Troop Tour as Part of Teach Children to Save Program

Reading, MA – John Ivas, Assistant Manager of Reading Cooperative Bank’s Reading Branch, spent time with Daisy Troop #69173 from the Joshua Eaton School in connection with the Teaching Children to Save (TCTS) program. John is an active participant in the national TCTS program and enjoys showing school and civic groups how the bank operates, while teaching them the value of savings.

“It was a pleasure to give the troop a tour of our branch and offices. They were so enthusiastic to learn about banking, and having them ask questions to learn more is always a great feeling. We were happy to host the troop and teach them the basics of banking,” says John Ivas, Reading Assistant Branch Manager.

Teaching Children to Save (TCTS) is a national program that organizes bank volunteers, like Ivas, to help young people develop savings habits early in life. The program was founded in 1997, and since that time over 145,000 volunteers have taught over 6 million students the importance of saving.
