Reading Co-operative Bank Promotes Karen Tavernese, AVP to Bank Compliance Officer

April 16, READING, MA - Reading Co-operative Bank, announced recently that Karen Tavernese has been named the Bank’s Compliance Officer.  In this role, Tavernese will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of all regulatory compliance-related policies and procedures; she chairs the Bank’s Compliance Committee working with bank officers to ensure procedures exist that strengthen the Bank’s consumer compliance. As Compliance Officer she supervises the BSA analyst and manages the Bank’s internal audit to ensure that RCB is in compliance with banking laws and regulations.

Karen joined RCB in 2001 as a Branch Manager, opening and managing the North Reading office; in 2009, she was promoted to Assistant Vice President and Assistant Compliance Office. Prior to joining RCB, Karen served as an Assistant Branch Manager at Fleet Bank (formerly Bank of Boston), where she worked for 10 years.

Karen Tavernese lives in Topsfield, MA with her husband, Salvatore, and two children, Marc and Nicole. Her hobbies include photography and spending time with her family.
