Reading Cooperative Bank Teaches Students How to Save Their Money

Reading Cooperative Bank’s Woburn Branch Manager, Danny Walbourne, recently spent time at the Hurld Elementary School in Woburn teaching students the importance and benefits that come from saving money. He also stressed the importance of practicing savings habits beginning at a young age.
“The ‘Teach Children to Save Program’ sponsored by the American Bankers Association is a wonderful opportunity to give back to the community. These simple financial lessons go a long way in providing kids with the tools and the know-how to manage their money properly. This program ties in well with everything we talk about here at RCB, and I am glad that I had the chance to participate in it”, says Woburn Branch Manager, Danny Walbourne.
Teach Children to Save is a national program sponsored by the American Bankers Association Community Engagement Foundation. The program’s mission is to create sound savings habits for young people from early on in their lives. This program has had tremendous success over the past eighteen years, and has been able to touch the lives of roughly six and a half million students nationwide. Reading Cooperative Bank has been an enthusiastic participant in the program.
