Reading To Face Fenwick In Hockey Opener

With the completion of the Super 8 play-in games Monday night, the MIAA got to work and seeded the Division 1 North boys' hockey tournament.

After a 12-6-4 regular season, Reading earned the No. 6 seed and will face No. 11 seed Bishop Fenwick (10-9-1) on Wednesday at 8 p.m. at Stoneham Arena. The Peabody school won its last five games to clinch a playoff berth.

If Reading wins, the Rockets will face Winchester in Sunday's quarterfinals.

Following is the seeding for the Division 1 North field:

1. St. Mary's (16-5-1); 2. Melrose (12-4-5); 3. Winchester (14-7-0); 4. Andover (12-6-2); 5. Burlington (13-7-2); 6. Reading (12-6-4); 7. Billerica (10-6-4); 8. St. John's Prep (10-7-3); 9. Westford (10-8-2); 10. Chelmsford (9-7-4); 11. Bishop Fenwick (10-9-1); 12. Newburyport (10-10-1); 13. Medford (8-8-3).
