Reading Girls Basketball Shakes Off Rust, Beats Burlington
The Rockets led by just four points at halftime but pulled away for a 62-40 victory over the Red Devils.
It took a two quarters of play. But the Reading High School girls basketball team finally found their postseason form.
The undefeated No. 1 seed Rockets led upstart No. 8 seed Burlington by just four points at halftime of Sunday's North Division 2 quarterfinal game. Having not played in more than a week, the Rockets shook off the rust and found their form in the second half, cruising to a 62-40 victory.
"It took us longer than I would have liked to get back in the swing of things," said head coach Kim Penney. "The third period was more like what we are capable of."
