Reading High School Seeded Second in North Gymnastics Sectional

Rockets head to Hudson for Saturday's gymnastics showdown.

Fresh off winning the Middlesex League title Feb. 12, the Reading High girls gymnastics team is taking aim at a much bigger prize, a state championship.

The MIAA North Sectional will be held Saturday at Hudson High School and the Rockets enter the 12-team competition as the No. 2 seed. Reading comes into the meet with an average score of 141.6875, one point less than top-seeded and defending champion Central Catholic. The top four teams from Saturday's North meet join with the top 4 from the South Sectional to advance to the state championship March 4.

Led by Maddie Doyle and Emily Eagleston, Reading (7-0) won the league meet by posting a score of 143.5. Doyle and Eagleston tied for second at the league meet with all-around scores of 36.6.
