Reading Lions Club's 12th Annual Reading Friends and Family Day Takes Place this Saturday!
Saturday June 13th. Give-Aways! Food! Live Entertainment! Free Family Friendly Activities! All events take place in the Birch Meadow Area.
Where can you listen to great music and the boom of fireworks, race remote control cars and enjoy a soap box derby, see robots in action and visit a petting zoo? It’s all here at the 12th Annual Reading Lions Club Reading Friends and Family Day on Saturday, June 13th 2015.
All events take place in the Birch Meadow Area. From the morning Kids Fun Run to the evening fireworks, you can look forward to a fun-filled day of activities, entertainment and information for all ages. New this year families are invited to enjoy a free round of miniature golf!! See below for schedule.
Since 2004, The Reading Lions Club has sponsored and organized Reading Friends and Family Day, also known as Town Day. This has now become a true community event as many groups have stepped up to both participate and become major sponsors.

This year’s activities begin with the FORR Kids Fun Run at 10:00. See the FORR website for registration information, www.forr01867.org. Then Reading Friends and Family Day booths and activities run from 11:00 A.M. through 3:00 P.M. The day will finish with a bang as The Friends of Reading Recreation and the Reading Recreation Department worked together to sponsor the Annual Fireworks performance!
Check out the booth and activity area for remote control race cars, a Boy Scout built rope bridge, petting zoo (11-2), jumpy castle, a Frisbee throwing robot, tours of town vehicles, plus boxing, karate, and dance demonstrations. Other ongoing activities include: a dunk tank, kids building and gardening activities, games, arts and crafts. In addition to all the fun activities for kids, this is a chance to find out what is going on in your town! Representatives from many organizations, businesses and town departments will be on hand to share information on town happenings, education, safety, conservation, summer reading, and lots of meet and greet opportunities with local officials. Residents of all ages will enjoy a full day of food, giveaways and demonstrations! When you need a break from all the excitement, grab a snack and head over to the Entertainment Stage. Performances include dance routines, karate demonstrations and multiple musical acts.
