Reading Man Charged With Domestic Battery, Assault: Police
A man is facing charges that he threatened to stab a victim with a screwdriver, according to police.
READING, MA — A Reading man is facing domestic assault and battery charges, according to police.
Police were dispatched to a home at 2:45 a.m. Wednesday on a report of a domestic assault in progress with a person threatening to stab a victim with a screwdriver, police said.
Police arrived and found the victim had already fled the home.

The suspect attempted to resist arrest and attempted to spit and wipe blood on police officers and EMTs. He was transported to a local hospital for evaluation of his injuries, according to police.
He was charged with domestic assault & battery of an intimate partner, malicious destruction of property less than $1,200, resisting arrest, four counts of assault to commit felony, and interference with civil rights.

He was arraigned in Woburn District Court on Thursday. He was held pending a dangerousness hearing scheduled for Friday.
